Happy Saturday, friends
Today, I'm handing over the moodboard keys to
, the mind behind , a community for creatives I've admired for a while. You've probably seen their iconic images around the internet!
Before running Create.Repeat, Zach lived the BuzzFeed dream-nightmare.
He had to make 6 videos a month, each one a failure unless it hit 1 million views. Imagine your worth being determined by whether strangers watched you for 12 seconds while on the toilet. The inevitable burnout led him to start
—the community for creatives he wishes he had. While I work behind the scenes on Sublime's public launch (happening in a few weeks—gasp!), I hope Zach's moodboard on fear, creativity, and the courage to keep going sparks something for you.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about fear. Not the kind that keeps you from danger, but the kind that shows up right before you make something new. That hesitation. The doubt. The feeling that maybe this time, you won’t pull it off.
That fear never really goes away. You don’t outgrow it. You learn to carry it. Creativity isn’t about waiting until you feel fearless, it’s about making something despite the fear. And then doing it again. And again. And again.
That’s what Create.Repeat is all about. The real challenge isn’t starting—it’s showing up every time, pushing through resistance, and committing to the work.
So here’s a moodboard on fear, creativity, and the courage to keep going. Hope it sparks something for you today.

Fear of creation can be overcome by further creation.
That's what's really great about having a body of work, and a lot of platforms give us the freedom to create and to create a lot. It isn't just one shot to get it right-- instead, it's opportunities to further articulate what we are after, continue to perfect it, express it in several ways, and tease out the contradictions. Let them all live side-by-side. If anything, keep going.
Great little piece!
Thanks for sharing this, Zach! I’ve been noticing myself going through these periods of big ambitious creativity followed by a feeling of being stuck, like I have no ideas, etc. they switch off relatively quickly and I’m finding it frustrating to be prepared for the switch, so this moodboard is particularly helpful. I’m definitely needing to remind myself A LOT that I can’t be a machine.
