I'll be completely honest - I don't remember the last time I stopped and read an entire issue of a newsletter. Sari, you have no idea how timely this issue was for me.
As someone who has been starting (and launching) creative projects for over a decade, I've come across A LOT of tactical advice and resources (like you mention on product-market fit), but I have always felt a huge gap when it comes to prepping people for the psychological and emotional toll it takes on you. You definitely struck some chords for me and I can't thank you enough for sharing. saving this issue to revisit early and often.
SO beautifully said, "I hope you focus less on what you achieve and more on who you become". Reflecting on three years into running my business, the person I am today and overcoming those mental barriers you write so eloquently about, has been the biggest transformation for me.
This article was also very timely. Thanks Sara. I liked the marathoner Dick Collins quote "Decide before the race what will cause you to stop. I'm going to make my list. I'm making a functional career change. Each time I get worried about it I think of the one thing my current career has not given me and how it never will. That motivates me to continue with my change.
This is the best thing I have read in a long time, and as someone who has just quit her 9-5 to start her own thing, I felt this was written for me. Thank you, Sari for these words of wisdom.

Anyone can recommend me a good Coach to accompany me in the process?

Never thought I’d say this phrase: “I loved that Jeff Bezos quote” 😂
This was so smart and on-target for anyone who is contemplating a new path. Well said!
