Stumbled across your app through Every and have fallen down the Sublime rabbit hole. I love the text focus in a world of endless short videos I don’t want to waste my time on. What I’m really keen to explore though is your canvas thing I saw a video about. That loooks sooo much cooler than the long long long Notion doc I end up creating every time I’m writing something
I played around some more and couldn’t find much Indian food content in there. Need to connect my Readwise so all my Indian food notes start bumping into hungry people on Sublime 😂
API for the mind is such a cool concept. I've always wished I could see the information diets of people I find interesting... love that it is coming to fruition
with Sublime the difference comes down to the little details - but the main thing is a) Sublime is reaaally good with text (highlights, connecting parent/child) b) the killer feature of Sublime is that you can put in a thought, idea, image, etc... and immediately get related ideas - from your library and others.
I just got access to Sublime today, and I was thinking about my internet graveyards. My Notion Notes database has over 7k entries. I have a note on it that reads, "Don't just mindlessly stash shit here! Only save things you expect to meaningfully interact with."
Needless to say, that's...mostly not happened. Notion isn't horrible, but resurfacing the important things is actually more difficult than I expected. I know that's not what I want to do here with Sublime, but I think it's going to take some time to figure out where this fits into my workflow in a meaningful way.
your comment reminded me of one of the highlights I have saved to my Sublime library:
Before you build a second brain, you must feel things in your gut. Without this connection to your innermost self, your note-taking system will become a digital junkyard. You’ll capture cool ideas, tweets and articles. You may even build a fancy knowledge graph in Roam. But if you don’t have gut feelings about what’s worth keeping, you’ll confuse hoarding for curation, and crucially, you’ll never create anything.
broadly speaking I feel like you can use BASB with Sublime?? Sari did a lil workshop for the BASB community and the people there seemed to really dig it
It's early days for me with Sublime, but I believe the community and related cards promote a level of serendipity that doesn't exist in other tools/platforms... I dig it!
Ive been looking for a replacement for my pinterest/tumblr guilty pleasure. This looks like a more refined, useful, organized version of those platforms. Never been one for productivity apps, but the visual model could be appealing. Cant wait to see how it turns out!
Sublime is great but in defense of Devonthink - there's no greater file management app in the universe (the example of an app with bad flow). In defense of this article - I TRIED to use Devonthink as a PKM and almost gave up on PKM.
The "I’m sorry, but I cannot get into flow state in a tool that looks like this" line pulled me in 🤔
this guy gets it
Interesting, are you going to have an Android version, a Firefox extension, and/or a desktop version?
on our radar for later this year!
the ‘xyz with a soul’ mantra is growing heavily on me.
it's all that's left

YES! Canvas is available for Premium members only currently but we're rolling it out for everyone in 2-ish weeks. Stay tuned!

Hi! What's the difference between Sublime and Are.na? Seeing a lot of similarities.
we love are.na and are big fans of their work.

Really appreciate what you all are building here.
delighted to have you, Briar <3

Interesting!! How linked is it to the 'second brain' framework?

Is this IOS only? No Android/Chrome support?

very cool! I love this :)
