People forget business is art. It’s worldbuilding. It’s expressing yourself through creating a living thing; an organism that comes with a culture and an identity.
Being able to treat it that way makes the journey infinitely more enjoyable. The ‘hustle to get rich quick’ business is the least inspired, least interesting world you could build.
Ah, another sighting (and citing) of Nishiyama Onsen as a model business (in the same family since 705). This is only possible because of Japan's tradition of adult adoption. The founder finds someone willing to take over the business, legally adopts them (regardless of age), and hands the company over.
Worked out well for Nishiyama Onsen, but as a concept it's basically the greater fool theory (many cases of people gazelling into a business then finding hidden debts or other murkiness).
Love this so much.

You made me smile all through: this is so good Sari, I will share with my app peers 😀
ahh im so glad!!! share away!!!
This makes my heart sing thank you for posting. It's true if we want our "art" to be timeless we need to treat what we build as such.
